Perfumes come and go with season but some classics never go out of style. This best describes the Fragrance we are featuring today: Chanel No 5

This iconic fragrance still holds the fore as one of the most profitable creations by Chanel. It’s the grand dame of perfumes sales today with a bottle sold worldwide every 30seconds. Launched as far back as 1921 as the first of many to have been released by French couturier Gabrielle coco Chanel and one in which she lost ownership and sole rights over and worked more than twenty years to regain.

The success of this quintessential fragrance was immediate. Inspired by the need to create something distinctly modern with a heavy dose of aldehydes and complex blend Of florals including 🌹rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, lily of the valley and iris – layered over a warm, woody base of vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and patchouli – with all this blend it’s no wonder it opens with a burst of crispness and sparkle. It was reformulated in 2016 to introduce Chanel No 5 L’EAU which still offers the powdery note of its original but not as cloying.

Till date the brand hasn’t lost its allure despite its simple rectangular bottle design representing coco Chanel’s “Less is more” philosophy (contrary to the gorgeous bottle buys we featured in our last post).
